The Brazilian plastic transformation industry consists of 8,523 companies and 258 thousand employees.

The plastics sector exportations have been growing at a rate of 30% and the forecast is to reach US$2.2 billion in 2008.

Santa Catarina, the second largest national producer in the sector, with more than 600 companies and 27,000 direct employees, responds for an annual turnover of R$5.2 billion and a growth of 8.5% per year. An opportunity that Interplast will be offering in its 5th edition, exhibition a wide range of innovations applied to the most varied areas in the sector. Occupying 2 pavilions, totaling 18,000m2, the event will have double the size relation to previous, offering new spaces and larger areas for the exhibitor, estimated to have 750 companies present.
