China, and indeed every country across the world, is now facing one of the greatest potential challenges to trade in recent times: REACH. REACH (Registration Evaluation and Authorization of Chemicals), the controversial new piece of chemical regulation from the European Union affects every company that manufactures and exports products to the European Union.

Regulation in Europe continues to increase its demands on Chinese manufacturers and suppliers of materials for Toys, Packaging, Food Contact Materials, Construction Products, Toys, Electrical Equipment, recycled materials, etc. Companies involved in plastic and rubber materials must stay up to date to ensure that they can continue trading and maintain the trust of European customers.

Meeting the requirements of REACH and other European legislation therefore involves all types of product manufacturers, not just the chemical industry. Compared to other REACH conferences, this seminar has a focus on the importance of formulators, compounders and article producers in making products for the EU market.

Dr. Erler is known as ‘Dr. REACH’ from ‘’Chemical Watch’’, the renowned news publication. He has been following REACH for almost a decade, since working with OECD Existing Chemicals Program. Dr. Erler’s practical knowledge of regulation includes work on REACH at the European Commission. He has been involved in drafting and designing parts of the official REACH Implementation Projects, such as European Chemicals Agency guidance.
