BDV means break-down voltage, also named as Dielectric Strength Valve. BDV Test is an very important testing procedure for the insulation oils in transformer. During the transformer operation for a period, insulation oils will become dirty/degradation which results in loosing function of the oil in transformer as insulation and cooling, in that case, transformer will face some serious problems.
Periodically BDV Testing is the main way to monitor and check the oil’s quality.
When the testing result shows a very low value, the oil has to be replaced or purified.

The Summary

Insulation oil test machine is produced according to the National Standard GB-86 “Determination Method for Dielectric Strength of Transformer Oil”. The parameters are set in advance with the adjusting switch and then the instrument strictly works on the basis of the preset parameters. After doing one test, the results can be printed if you want. This instrument has a series of characteristics, such as strong anti-jamming, simple operation, sound light warning.
