Characteristics
A PSA (Pressure Swing Adsorption) nitrogen generator is an apparatus than gains pure oxygen from the air.
Compressed outside air is brought into one of the two vessels. In here the oxygen will be adsorbed bye the carbon molecules, and nitrogen leaves the vessel. While one vessel is used for adsorption, the second vessel is regenerated by reducing the pressure in a controlled manner. Hereby the adsorbed oxygen molecules are discharged to the air. When the first vessel is saturated, the process direction is switched. Now the first vessel is regenerated, while the second one is adsorbing. This principle is called Pressure Swing Adsorption (PSA).
